Hi,

I'm in need of changing my belt and pulley it's causing a squeaking noise. The idler pulley is getting old so it needs to be replace. Is that usually the case? Or is it the tension problem (base on what I read on the forum posts)? I brought the car used from a dealer 3-4 years ago. My belt is crack and I been doing research. I came up with the names Bando (OEM) and Dayco (Serpertine belt). Is there a major differences? Any advice?!

I have changed aftermarket belts and a lightened pulley a few months ago. the bad nosie comes very often specially when the belt is wet or the AC is ON. I bought the car to a friend to check and he told me that the pulley was fine, but the belts seem not as good as the OEM ones. I will replace my belts to OEMs and stick to them.
