I am sadly selling my HB, that i have owned for about 6 months. This has been the most reliable (old) vehicle i have ever owned, or drove for that matter. It has about 181,000 miles on it, and i was wondering what would need to be replaced (if any) before i sell it to my friend. He is just very nervous that if he buys it, something will break right away. is there any premptive maintenence required, or should i tell him just drive it til something breaks and if its cheap replace it?:wtf:

Did you do a full tuneup when when you bought it? You know, oil, filters, cap, rotor, plugs, etc.? If so, I'd say you're good to go. If not, it depends on how close a friend. If he is, you can change the oil and filters.

Just lend it to him to drive when he needs it since he probably already knows about all the problems you have posted here about. Like the frame being too weak to jack up to check your brakes with fist sized holes that nobody wants to weld because it's a liability, getting less than 10mpg due to mice eating electrical wires and the rusted muffler that fell off taking the bumper with it when it bounced up off of the ground to name a few.
Since you only paid $200 for it, beat the crap out of it and put so many miles on it in such a short time of ownership... what do you have to lose... besides a friendship. With over 200k and 17 years old with all its issues, better to put it to rest before it takes someone with it IMO.

i sold it to him today... he gave me $500 for it, and he's fixing the frame (he's got a welder and connections for materials) i fixed the gas mileage (i seafoamed it after i replaced the sensors and i was consistently getting 24 mpg when i drove without hammering it at all) and he likes the sound it makes after i took off the cat (sounds very similar to a suby sti w/o the turbo part) and he needed it then and there so i was happy i got $300 more dollars than i paid for it, i very sad to see it go, it was the most reliable truck i have ever owned (and my dad has seen in a very long time *for such a piece of **** as he put it) other than the gas mileage (which wasnt bad after i fixed it) the frame (which survived a 6 foot jump and all i snapped was 1 leaf in the rear) even with the frame with the fist sized holes... simply put the thing was a beast and it makes me sad to see it go. if i can find another one in better shape (or the same shape) as that one... im buying it... thx for all your guy's help on issues with my truck, i hope to be getting another nissan soon and ill be back on posting with more questions. this forum is kick@$$
