Power window problems Pathfinder

Hey there,
Having a problem with my 2002 Pathfinder windows not rolling back up.

Recently, both power windows in the rear seat won't go up when pushing the rear seat window switches on the rear doors.
Both switches on the rear doors will let the windows go down fine, but won't respond to go back up.

I don't believe the window lock switch on driver's master control panel is the problem as I check that, and when unlocked it allows the front passenger window to open/close (normally that lock switch prevents the front passenger switch and rear seat from operating). I also know it's not the lock switch because the rear windows go down (just not up). However, the rear seat window buttons on the driver master control won't move the rear windows either up or down.

I pulled the door panels off in the rear seat, and rigged jumper wires directly from the batter to the power window motors, and was able to get the windows to go back up...so I know both of the motors appear to be good.

I doubt if both rear seat power window switches went out at the same time (as they still are able to lower the window..just won't go up).

If it was a bad fuse or bad wires, then the windows wouldn't be able to lower (which they do)...right ? Or is that a bad assumption ?

Since I'm only having a problem with the window going back up on the rear seats, is there possibly a relay switch that I can check, and where would it be located.

Any other ideas would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks.

My 2003 had Can bus for front windows and hard wired for rears, so I had opposite problem , my Fronts would not work while rears did.

So my first guess would be ground to switches, check the wiring diagram.

I will take a look and get back to you.

The supply for up in rear is different than up and down in the front switches.
On my 2003 it comes from the cpu.
however up at rear comes direct from a relay. This is from my FSM for 2003 model.

Found 2002 Wiring diagram and its same as 2003 except it called smart window unit. power feed is same.

My apologies, it was the front lock vs rear locks that were Can bus. its been a while.
Nether the less it looks likw there is a wiring problem. relay is ok.

Do you want the 2002 FSM, or just the Wiring diagram if I can make one separate ?

Thanks, IanH.

I was able to pull up a wiring diagram, but am having trouble interpreting how to pinpoint the problem area.

Don't know if I mentioned this in my earlier message, but both power window buttons for the rear windows (Left & Right) don't work either up or down
when using the driver's power window console. However, the rear door buttons will let you lower the window (both L&R), but neither will go up using those
rear door switches.

Could it be that something is wrong with the Driver's Master Power window pod ? I thought I read somewhere that in order for the rear windows to work, it was somehow tied to the driver's master console...so if there's something wrong with that pod (switch bad or not grounded correctly), it could create a problem
for the rear windows.

Thanks again, for your attempts to help me. Much appreciated.

Additional info on my power window problem

To complicate things further (or maybe this might help isolate the problem better..), I also notice that none of the power door lock buttons
work (on either the driver's side door or the passenger side door). I can unlock/lock the doors using the key fob, but the buttons for the door locks on
the front doors don't function. Because of this problem, combined with the rear windows not going up (but goes down), and not functioning from the driver's master switch, could I actually have a problem with a circuit breaker, power window relay, or another wire somewhere ?

Ok, My Dear Wife left the window down and it rained. This was at least 5 yrs ago, hence fuzzy memory.
After that we had problems with the door switches working. We replaced the drivers door switch module that contains the CAN bus transmitter and this fixed it.

I did this because my Nissan dealer wanted $135 to read the Nissan codes ( not OBD II, I have a reader for that.) and the unit was $200.
That fixed it.

Re power supply. check fuses, 7.5 A, shown in EL-Window-01. does the switch assembly illumination work ?

It might be easier to isolate the wires and test for power with a meter.

So the rear windows go down, that's all that works ? so diagram EL- win-05 shows power to rear switches coming from the master unit and C plus D to the left. This come from EL Win 01 , from 40A supply and relay and so its good. It probably doesnt go UP because the other side of the citcuit is the CPY, and if it is brocken or has no power it cant ground the power form the switches to motor.

please give an update when possible. Good luck, Ian.

Apparently I cant edit my typing errors after 2 hours.
so here is last bit again.

It probably doesn't go UP because the other side of the circuit is the CPU, and if it is broken or has no power it cant ground the power from the switches to motor.
