Possible problem with climate control, brand new 23 Rogue

Hello, just got a new 23 Rogue SL Premium about 10 days ago. A couple times I’ve noticed that I’d have the A/C in manual mode, set about 72, that I’d notice it starting to get hotter air, and it’s been changed from air directed at me to my feet, and the temperature has changed to 75 and it’s in Automatic mode. Any idea why it’s changing on its own?
Thank you

I've had my 22 since new and have had these "mystery" moves with my hvac. I don't ever use AUTO mode so that I can control everything BUT I've noticed numerous times that the direction of air flow is somewhere else, that the air coming out of the vents is warmer than I would expect so that I have to fiddle with the temp dial to finally get things the way I want. And even after I finally get things right, I notice that my driver side vents are 2-3 degrees warmer than the passenger side vents. I think Nissan has not perfected the hvac on the 3rd gen Rogue yet. The CR-V I traded in didn't have this fancier dual AC system and I yearn to have my old hvac back.

Got my 2023 SV about a month ago. Never use the Auto feature on the AC. Temperatures are all over the map. Sometimes setting it to 68 degrees is warm and others it’s cool. Sometimes I’ll start the car and set it to 78 to warm it up and it’s not even blowing and have to turn it off and back on again. Very disappointed. So I’ve been cranking it to LO when I want to cool it off and HI when I want to warm it up. Then when it gets to a desirable temp I turn it down to where it should be and it seems to level out 👎

I think this issue plagues so many of us. I havent seen the auto change to 75 degrees yet, but I do experience the heater blow quite hot when I lower the temp from 78 to about 60. After maybe a good 20 min the blower actually feel cool.

I wonder if the car has an internal thermostat where it goes off that and not the actual temp you see on the display. Another thing I notice is the wonky temp on auto start. If I have the car outisde when its cold and auto start it from the keyfob, its a hit and miss if the heater feels like turning on or not. Kinda sucks and gets quite annoying

I will say (and I’m probably jinxing myself) that since it’s warmed up here the temperature has stayed exactly as I set it, including a 3 hour drive each direction yesterday. But it is cooling down starting tomorrow, coldest air of the season for South Fla, so if it bugs out again maybe there’s a correlation happening.

Well, I’ve made an appointment for next Monday to have the AC looked at. I guess we’ll see what happens then. But I’m not holding out any hope, as from searching the web I don’t think there’s been a single person that’s actually found a reliable issue and fix yet. But at least it’ll be documented.

Well about to go pick mine up from the dealer. I showed them the above post from Reddit, and they said they’ve never heard of an “AC amplifier” before. And of course they couldn’t reproduce the issue. So like everyone else, no new answers. They also have to replace my shifter because the “P” button is loose, but they had to order that.

I got my 2023 nissan rogue last year.

This is all manual mode.
I live in Texas, so it was very hot this summer. No problem, the AC is blowing cold air on 70F if it gets too cold I turn it up a little bit, no issues.

Now, during winter in a different story.
Outside temp is around 40F and I set the heat to about 70F but it gets so hot I lower to maybe 61 but still very hot. I had to turn it all the way to LO to get it to a comfortable temp.

I feel the car doesnt want to cool down because it is very cold.

From the screenshots outside temp is 40, I lower temp to 61 and still feels hot with AC ON or NOT.
Like I said, LO does cool down the air. Seems weird to me.

Yep. Exact same with me. I truly feel like the car ambient temperature sensor wants the car to get to whatever desired temp you set it so it’ll blow out hot as heck till it meets that threshold and then it’ll blow out colder. I say this because it’s happened a number of times. For about 20-25 min it’s hot as heck then it starts to blow out as we expect. Idk if it’s a flaw or feature but I do get annoyed at it sometimes

One would think that after years of knowing they have a really crappy HVAC system with SO MANY complaints...they would just scrap it and borrow/steal from another manufacturer or just go back to the drawing board and install something that actually works. I've been dealing with my funky system (2022 SV) for almost 3 years now and just this week, I've started hearing a new fan noise even with it on the lowest fan speed. Just another reason I'm looking for another vehicle.
