Why am i being asked 1.8k to just be able to start my car? This is preposterous. Also includes IBCM. What's that?

I see. It started with the fob ot being recognized. I had found that by disconnecting the neutal battery cable, it sometimes would reset. However one time it caused an electrical issue and the transmission wouldnt go higher than 3k rpm. It reset a week later. had a locksmith reprogam the fobs and it worked 10 times only. There arent any IPDM's available atm either . This car is now an expensive paper weight.🙄

The ipdm is the power distribution module. It contains fuses, relays and control modules. To me it is a stupid way of doing things as your relays that are built in are not replaceable. In most other car brands you can replace yhe headlight relay, the starter relay, the ac relay etc independently of any thing else if need be. In Nissans you have what you have now. I am not sure what happened to yours making it needing replacement. But let's say it was just the starter relay, you now have a huge cost to replace a $5 part.
