This Hawker battery weighs 10.5lbs. This saves more weight than a carbon fiber hood for much less money. This is a great way for anyone who is into weight reduction.

Give me a pm if you are interested.

I believe it is 270cca. But really the cca doesn't matter. That's only to show if the battery is capable of starting the car. Once the car is running, all the power comes from the alternator. You can disconnect the battery and you won't even notice it.

Yes I know how starting/charging systems work, its what I do for a living(mechanic). The reason I ask is that I live in an area of the country where it can hit -35deg F during the winter. 270cca wont cut it. There have been mornings when my 700cca batt has had trouble. With only 270cca and my plans for battery relocation I dont think the low rating of the battery will be able to crank my car through the long cables during the winter. Thanks for the info though.

curious did you weight the stock battery to see the weight difference? I never realized the battery was that heavy. I never had to change mine sine 1995.
you'd be surprised how much ur old battery weighs. i had to lug that fuckin thing up to my third floor apt and believe me its like 40 or 50 lbs or some shit like that. i might just have a larger battery but iunno. these weigh like 10 lbs 6 oz or something like that.

Stock battery, 550CCA, is 37lbs or 400CCA being 34lbs. If you're looking for more power and a quality, top of the line battery made by Johnson Controls Inc. then perhaps the 800CCA MTP-24F Intersate would be a good choice. I'll be picking one up in a week or so, depending. The downside, it weighs 50lbs but it should be great for winter in an older car like mine. I wouldn't mind having a 10lb battery myself but 270CCA where I live wouldn't cut it. The Optima Orange Top would be my ultimate choice with a CCA of 750 and it only weighs the standard 37lbs. The reason for the Orange Top is that it is reverse polarity/terminal, which most if not all Nissan's use or so I thought, so you won't have problems with the cables not reaching.

Check eBay, you can get the Hawker battery for a "buy it now" price of ~$23 + $15 shipping. $38 shipped is a steal.

These light weight batteries sound really nice but do they last as long as their beefier cousins? I would assume so... but I just want to make sure before I buy heh
