I'm thinking of buying 1991 nissan 300zx from a car dealer with pictures of it. They claim its a turbo but I've looked at lots of pictures of other z32's to know that if its a turbo model, the back of the car will have "twin turbo" on it as well as the engine. This car I'm looking at doesn't have any of that but it might be that the car is older than when they began labeling the twin turbo models. It also has these gauges in the picture below, which are similar to what my z31 turbo has. Can someone tell me what the gauges are? If it has a turbo gauge on it like my z31 then that might help me verify it.

That aftermarket gauge configuration and controller (where the factory clock was) are conducive of a TT.

If originally a TTZ from the factory, some things to look for...
Wider rear directional wheels (OEM).
Slotted lower front valence (intercooler ducts).
Rear spoiler (more like a lip).
Boost gauge in dash.

Also charge piping and HICAS (engine bay) to name a few.

This is a picture of the dash. I didn't know that the dash had a turbo gauge on the instrument cluster. Even though this car doesn't say its a turbo on the engine and rear, I suppose I can assume its a turbo model.

If it still has the underhood emissions sticker on it, it would list the engine. I would think the easiest way is to look at the rear suspension and see if it has four wheel steering (HICAS). Also, you know it's not a factory turbo car if it's not a 2-seater.

I'm probably late since this post was back in April but do not go by the dash, spoilers, front bumper, hicas or badges as all this can be put on a N/A version. The best and most accurate way to know is to look at the intake lines because the N/A will have only 2 and the TT will have 4. If you REALLY want to be sure look under the car behind the front wheels and you can see the turbo itself if it has one.
