how about adjusting the clutch cable?
Would grease help?
Today is the first day i drove my 200sx beater in such cold weather.
Previous owner said the clutch will get very hard when its cold, because its just a cable clutch.
Well, to my surprise the whole car felt like it was frozen.
It took a great deal of force to push the clutch pedal down, reminds me of trying to use the brakes when the car is not running. and the shifter was the same too too effort to move it and didnt wiggle side to side easly in neutral.
would adding grease or lubricant take care of that? It took aboue 30min of driving before the clutch started feeling like normal again.

for your shifter problem: drain the tranny fluid and replace with Redline MT90

well its fine in warmer temps, but just below freezing everything feels frozen and tight. even controls for heat are kinda harder to turn than normal.
Yeah, my car felt like that today too. Just cause it was something like 20 degrees out. The shifter felt like it was glued and the clutch was a little harder to push in than usual. Once it was warm it was fine. I think the gear oil in my car needs to be changed since the people who did my clutch probably put crap in there. yes cars feel stiff when its cold...because they literally ARE stiff. when it's cold, oil based lubes get very thick(ball joints, cv joints, tranny, etc.), but the actual metal also gets very stiff(suspension, sway bars, etc.). i'm sure you've heard of people cracking hammers and axes when its really cold out. same applies to cars metal.
getting redline mt90 does help with cold shiftability, but it doesn't make it feel like its warm.

To the original poster, I'd change your trans oil, and if the problem persists, just let your car warm up for 5 minutes or so when it's ice cold outside.
