I'm looking to build a kit car using a 2.0 fwd engine, I understand the Nissan engines are all aluminium, which is nice, but which models are the best ones to go for. I'm in the UK so are there any good tuning firms over here

thanks in advance

sr20de=cheap and good for 150+whp with some basic mods, NA
sr20ve=expensive and good for 190+whp with basic mods, NA
SR20DET= Relatively cheap and its turbo so HP comes easy, 180whp stock. Up to 200+ whp is easy, after that basic turbo mods get you 350+ whp at a price.
SR20DET from the GTIR is good for a little more then the stock DET maybe 230+ whp with basic mods, cost is much higher then the basic DET.

There's only one 2.0 Nissan engine (to my knowledge): the SR20. It can be had in naturally-aspirated (SR20DE) and turbocharged (SR20DET) forms. Sunnys, Sentras, Pulsars and NXen as well as Infiniti G20/Nissan Primeras have this engine. Silvia/200SX has the rear-wheel drive version, both N/A and turbo.

SE-R.NET is a good place to start. It's a Yank-centric site.
