I have a 91 TT with the stock exhaust. I'm in a state where their is no emissions laws so what would be the best set up with diameter of piping should I take out the dual cats and go straight pipe, or will I lose back pressure and I don't want the car to sound like a high pich rice rocket. I have a guy who can do all the custom piping for me i just have to give him the info.

Whats wrong with losing backpressure?

If he does custom piping make sure it is mandrel bent. I personally wouldn't get a custom exhaust. Most of the exhaust systems on the market are just too good to take chances with an custom exhaust.

Your turbos keep enough backpressure. Also, your turbo keeps the "high pitched rocket" sound out. Turbos muffle exhaust quite a bit. It wont be a problem. 4 bangers sound like high pitched rockets....Not sexy z's.

I use to drive a little civic thats why I asked about the back pressure, Thanks for the help the guy is going to bend the all the pipe I need for $150.00 all I have to do is bring him the exhaust. any ideas on a good set???

How is he bending it? If there are any crimps in it don't use it it will just hurt performance. It is a myth that you need back pressure.

For the JWT 500s you stated you had in the other thread, I'd say go with at least a 3" pipe size.

so your running straight pipe how is that you have 3'' pipping or 2 1/2

I personally think 3" would eliminate some problems in the future, but to each their own, I suppose. No such thing as having too big an exhaust on a turbo car (Within reason, of course).
