I'm having the KA24DE in my 1991 s13 coupe rebuilt with performance in mind. Looking for suggestions. Should I turbo to get 300 hp, or can I do it the NA way for $4000 or less? What are the best turbo and NA full rebuild kits, where do I get em'?

I asked this same exact question not too long ago... The main thing is, for under $4,000 reaching 300hp NA isn't gonna happen. You want to go turbo to reach that goal. Now if you're rebuilding the engine, I've been talking to a turbo shop near my house (the guy has a 12 second GSX, and a 7 second 5.0 mustang) and he's telling me that I should aim for a compression ratio of 8.5-1, now that may be lower than the stock CR, but it's better for turbo.

As for which rebuild kit is better, just make sure everything is forged, forged is the best way to go. Just be sure to shop around, don't just go for the first engine kit you see, you might end up throwin' money away that way.

P.S. search, search, search...
