Found out it's a an SE off road or SE 4x4.
If it's an SE Off-road, it will have switches for hill assist and hill decent control. It will also have skid plates additional skid plates under the fuel tank, engine and transfer case and they came with taller tires and Rancho shocks in the back. If it doesn't have the hill assist and hill decent control, then it's just a "regular" SE.

Not my SUV.
Helping a friend.
I remember a dial with 4x4, 2x4, and some other stuff on it.
There was a skid plate in the front.
Don't remember if it had the others.
I'll check next time I see it.

Another thing I remembered.
It has a receiver hitch in the rear.
It's the bigger one.
Don't know if that makes a difference.

The front skid plate was standard on all trims. The additional skid plates were part of the SE-OR package. The hill assist and hill decent controls weren't on the transfer case selector knob, but were separate switches. SE-OR models also were badge "Off Road." It sounds like you have a "regular" SE trim.
