On occasion, my car (2004 Sentra SE-R Spec V) makes a very odd noise when letting off the clutch and pressing the gas and continues to make it until the clutch is fully released. It only does this when taking off from a stop. The only way I can think to describe this noise is that it sounds like a door opening with really old rusty hinges. Does anyone know what this could possibly be? I can't get the sound to duplicate for a mechanic because it only does this on occasion.

How many miles on it? I have the same noise but it is intermittent. Probably the clutch throw out bearing going. I've been driving mine this way for about 20K miles now and no negative impact except for scaring people in the car next to me once in a while. I'm going to wait til I need to replace the clutch and do it all at once. My car now has 160K miles on it so I don't know how long the original clutch will last. I don't baby my 03 Spec V either.

Luck,
Slim:)
