I have been looking at converting to manual steering and am trying to decide what to do about the water pump. Seeing that I cant find a electric water pump for the GA16DE and dont want to use a universal electric belt drive I have come up with a couple of ideas. I already planned on making a new bracket for the alternator, so with that in mind I could feasibly line up the crank, water pump, and alternator and just run one belt. I am rather handy with coming up with ideas that have reasons not to do them but fail to realize this till after I start. SO decided I would see if anyone has heard or can think of reasons why not to....

you dont have to fab up a bracket, nissan makes the alternator bracket for the non-p/s cars.

Yes but it is prob another heavy cast iron bracket. Why not do it with a better lighter material and since I have a UDPulley the belts dont line up quite right. Think its because the pulley was for a b14 and I have it on a b13.
