So I have had my xtrail out in some pretty bad conditions since I bought it, and granted I am running on the original tires with 74000kms on them. I noticed when I step on the gas in 4auto, the back end comes around. It's pretty controllable, but it got me wondering. I was under the impression(perhaps mistakenly) that the LE models came with dynamic control and stability control, but from doing some reading, it looks like it was only an option on the LE in Canada.

So for you LE owners out there, how do you know if your vehicle is equipped, do you have a button to disable the system? Personally I don't think all the electronics in the world are worth a good set of winter tires (which I will hopefully have tonight) but it would be nice to know one way or the other. I am suspecting my LE doesn't have it as I can perform all sorts of shinanigans in the truck.

there will be a button that says "VDC off" on the bottom left corner beside the mirror controls...
if you dont see a "slip" light blinkin from time2time below the tach. then your vechicle prolly doesnt have it. road conditions like these should be setting it off like crazy.

My LE has it and I have winter tires, too. You have to drive pretty agressively to have the VDC kick in with winter tires in AUTO (AWD) mode.
At the time it was a $3-400 option that seemed silly not to get.
