My altima (2.4L) has 200,000 and tends to burn oil in high vacuum situations. On the highway it will not burn oil at all. Drive in the city, it will go through a quart of oil every other week. I feel like the valve seals need to be replaced. Haynes repair manual suggests removing the head for this job.
Can it be done with the head on the block if I place the piston at TDC?
Do I need to buy the nissan valve spring compresser? I don't think mine will fit into the well that these spring sit in.
