I had the same problem on my 85 Pulsar NX. You likely broke all the weld points on the trunk lid cross braces. Just fill in the space between the braces and the trunk lid with silicone or something to stop it from rattling.

i need some help
i have a b-12 coupe and just did a couple of mods ,lowering springs etc.however i am hearing a rattling sound comming from the trunk area . i have tried ajusting the trunk several times still no cure .can anyone suggest what could me causing that sound ? so i can get rid of it once and for all.
