The other day I raced my car for the first time and I realized how hot my shifter was getting. Usually when I'm driving normally the shifter will got warm but when I was racing it got really hot. Is this normal or is something wrong. I'm guessing the transmission is heating up too much.

Your transmission does not sit below the shifter so the heat is not coming from that.

Your catalytic though does, and it gets very hot, even more when being fed a rich exhaust which is what happens at WOT .

Are your heat shields in place? Is you car in tune? Are your mods whacking out the mixture at WOT?
