Tranny leak

Well I noticed that my tranny fluid is leaking... I haven't been able to track down the exact place it started leaking but it started after my starter install. Has anyone experienced the leaking on a SE-R after installing their starter? I didn't think it was possible but the leak drips about the same location as the starter.... just curious!

Hmm, the starter isn't anywhere near where transmission fluid is. Its probably coincidence that it started leaking at the same time, unless you did something like remove the passenger side axle to install the starter (which would be, uh, one way to do it). Are you sure its transmission fluid?

If the transmission is leaking, then its probably one of these:
1. you cracked the transmission housing (wheel hop?)
2. either one of the axle seals is going bad
3. either the neutral and/or reverse switch is leaking (common)

Basically, you need to find out exactly where its leaking from.

No I didn't remove the axles to install my starter!!! The weird part about it is, it only leaks for a small amount once in a while. The nuetral switch is located at the base of the tranny right? it sucks to try and locate it. I have it spread all on the bottom. I haven't been able to locate it. I guess I will just have to clean the tranny with brake cleaner and wait!! I found that my oil pan is leaking a little bit so it sounds like I have some work to do on the next oil change! How much does the switch usually run maybe I will try that. Both axles have been replaced recently along with the seals so I don't think its that. I have wondered if it could be the rear seal though... I hate this crap!

I know its tranny fluid 90 weight is hard to mistake for something else :) I have started to notice a ticking noise under hard acceleration only which leads me to believe that my tranny is running low on fluid because I can't hear the noise when I rev the motor up when its idle!
Yeah, your best bet is probably to just get it real clean and wait for it to leak. This might work better if its hot, so maybe go out and drive it hard, then come back and clean it.

I say this as serious as i can and i hope you havent done what aron said. Basicaly you need to get your car into a garage. There aint alot of fluid in a tranny. Take it out and pushing it is as good as killing it. Trust me i nearly did it with mine and was told the same thing.
