Just FYI, I got nailed by a State trooper this morning. Nice guy, he only gave me a verbal warning for 64 in a 50. The main reason he stopped me was my tint. I have a b15 sentra se, with 20% on the back 3 windows. I bought it at the dealership (Nissan of Keene)this way. They assured me the tint was legal. Turns out it was, in fact, illegal. The trooper tested the tint, and not only was it below the 35% state limit, it was 16%! So, moral of the story: make sure the tint is A) what the dealer claims B) have them prove it is legal. The dealer gave me a passing inspection with the tint, I wonder if the State trooper is going to pursue that...

The previous owner did it. He bought the car at that dealership, then traded it in a few months later for a Frontier (he was a land surveyer, needed a more rugged vehicle). However, the dealer put the inspection sticker on it, which is illegal if the tint isn't Kosher. An update though, the dealer is going to remove it at thier cost. I'm working on seeing if they can put the 35% on at no cost/reduced cost, but not sure yet. They haven't gotten back to me with a cost on that, so I haven't really gotten to that part as of yet...

The percentage is the amount of light that enters the car through the tint. So 16% means that only 16 of the 100% of light gets through. The higher the percent, the lighter the tint. I believe this is how it works, anyway. Feel free to correct me if I am wrong.

my friend sent me some web site a while ago that is from the NH dept of safety and it said that the state law prohibts any alterations such as tint. and if the car already has some it's supposed to be under 35(or whatever the number is)
well the kid is in the army now, so i dunno how to find that site again.
