My sentra is at 68,000 miles. I was just wondering, how long do they usually go without being replaced. Also, can my timing bu adjusted by the gun or by computer. It feels like it needs adjusting. I also have tekwire wire set and NGK plugs. Do you guys think I should put NGK wires instead and my car would run smoother. Thankx in advance for your help!

Timing chains usually last the life of the engine, it's the tensioners that go bad around 100k. Once the tensioners go bad, you will usually hear a swishing sound from the left side of the valve cover. The timing can be done with a light, download the FSM or search to get a good idea how to do it. Stick with NGK's, they seem to work best with our cars. Do you have a problem with the car not running smoothly? At 68k, your engine is still a baby so you shouldn't have many problems to worry about besides the oil and the occasional tune-up.

Thankx for your help man. The engine rumbles a bit but a mechanic told me its because I am using Tekwires and not NGK's. So on my next tune-up I will put NGK wires in there. Do you know where I can get them for cheap. They are like 50-60 dollars everywhere, lol.

thanks for your help man!
