The left side front wheel bearings on my 98 Sentra are shot, and I am trying to pull the bearing housing, or whatever you call the thing that the bearing is seated in. I unscrewed the hex nut from the tie rod and torsion bar, but they seem stuck pretty tight. How do I get them off?

Nobody in town had a removal tool on Sun., so I used the old hammer on the thick side of the hub technique.

tie rod/ball joint tools suck shit lol.

put the castelated nut back on the stud, and smoke the cast part of the steering knuckle with a big hammer. don't hit it on the stud or the grease boot. i use this method all the time. i prefer it to the puller. i watch guys take 20 minutes with a puller, when a hammer usually takes 20 seconds.
