Hello all..,i just bought a 87 300zx na that has been sitting for atleast 3 years,the person i bought it from said it ran fine before she parked it..well it has been sittting in the mountains of pa..,so as she described i only would need a upper and lower radiator hose...well i actually need that plus the thermostat housing as she never drained the car..the question on that is...,since the radiator and housing has dry rotted can the block also be dry rotted?The lights and electrical are all fine but when i try and crank it it only makes a clicking sound..and no turnover..can a starter dry rot as well or get hung for sitting for so long? i feel like i have been swindled but oh well..,thanks for reading this..,nester

How can a radiator dry rot? That's a term that's most often applied to rubber parts as it can dry rot. Metal cannot.


Have you tried replacing the battery? If it's been sitting for 5 years, it's most likely bad.
