I did an exhaustive search for a 4 cylinder, stick shift for some dry off-roading. I covered everything from Rangers to CRV’s and finally lighted on a nice 2003 Frontier but now it looks like I’m backed into a hole with one wheel in the air.

Are there are REALLY no aftermarket or factory LSD carriers for this rear axle? This sucks big time! I’ve got to get torque to both rear wheels out in the west Texas wild or I’ll be buzzard meat for sure.

Anyone willing to share some first hand experience on this one just might save my sorry ass because I’m headed out there one way or the other.

pretty sure lockrite makes a locker for it, which i would prefer over lsd anyway, lighter, easier to maintain and more effective.

You can force a 4x2 vehicle to act similar to a 4x4 on occasion by gently pressing the brake pedal to slow down the wheel that's spinning and transfer energy to the wheel with traction.

and to let you know...its very hard on your brakes
