I'd run the tach's positive wire to a keyed on ignition wire, ground wire to ground obviously, your tach sensing wire goes to an ECU narrow blue wire with a white stripe. If you want your tach backlight to run off your dimmer, connect the light's positive wire to the dimmer's red wire with a blue stripe and the light's ground wire to the dimmer's red wire with a yellow stripe (this wire has silver dots ever so often on it as well). Any futher questions drop me an e-mail.

is the blue wire with the white stripe, is it ok to hook into that wire from right behind the insterment panal or do i need to route it to the engine bay? i have my car in peices in my driveway and it's a 105 here, in Phoenix. and help would be greatful, BTW, i have no holes in my firewall to route to the engine bay, so i guess i would have to cut one and seal it.

You probably won't find that wire behind your instrument panel, it's by your car's computer, which is behind your dash down by the floor. Pull the wrapping off of the wiring that hooks up to the computer and find the blue wire with a white stripe. Splice into that wire and hook your tach wire up to it. It'll be a lot easier than drilling holes and going to the coil.
