Hey guys, I am new to this whole stuff on nissan mods.
Right now my car is as stock as it can be except for the body kit.

I was wondering if there are any mods that are worth having for this car.
By the way, do the throttle spacers for these cars work.

Well, i'm out.

Well it's probably an e16i engine. Some of the later '88s had the GA16i engine. If it has a round airfiter housing it is the E16i. Anyways there are quite a few parts for these cars if you know where to look. Read some of the older threads, there is TONNES of info.

You have the e16i. Same engine as my car. It puts out 70hp and 92 ftlbs of torque. There are plenty of parts for it if you look for them, but remeber that some of those parts will make it impossible to pass emissions. Checkout the e-series forum, there is plenty of info there.

The first order of business is to get rid of the three speed automatic trans. That thing saps out what little power your E16i is making. A five speed is a must, or you can just cruise "low and slow!" :D

i thought it had 4 gears ?i'm confused
Nah the autos were only 3-speeds. The 5-speed is the way to go, not just for power but because it is one of the nicest manual trannies ON ANY CAR.

damn, i didn't noticed it had 3 gears, so the 2nd gear hadles from like 10-45 mph , that's a pretty mighty tranny.

Ricebox is right, the 5 speed stick is quite the nice stickshift.

and actually in the auto tranny the second gear handles a more than 10-45mph. The redline in 2nd gear comes at about 115km/h (about 71mph) First gear hits the rev limiter at exactly 70km/h (43 mph) and the engine doestn pull all the way to the redline in 3rd.

the torque converter srves kind of the same purpose as clutch, except that it allows the engine to make the optimum power before engaging (performance ones anyway...)

There are torque converters as well as tranny parts available for the Sentra.

check here:
Torque Converter Info

and here:
Level 10 Transmissions

They also have stuff for the stickshift for all the 5 speed guys.
