it takes longer for your car to warm up obviously. Not sure if its doing damage but engines dont usually like running with water temps below about 80 deg C for long periods.

Not advisable. When the coolant is below temperature specs, the temp sensor will present a 'low temp' condition to the ECU; as a result, the ECU will richen the fuel mixture; this will most likely give you driveablility problems and bad MPG.

It can be done.
I just drove around all summer with my thermostat blown. Didn't really care as the temps never got up pass regular.
MPG sucked. But I didnt care.

Winter came. Big time.
Froze my bum off for a week and all of a sudden I started to care.
All is well, my bum isn't freezing every morning to work. :cheers:
