ive got a quote on a sr20det out of a blue bird for $2000.00 plus shiping, it includes everything including ecu and wiring harness. a local salvage yard is giving me a deal on a sr20de tranny and every thing in need for the swap out of the same year 200sx for $700.00. ive done allot of reserch and know of allot of problems and expensses this swap may produce. my question is will the blue bird ecu work with out reprograming or should i have this done before i start the swap (inother words can i put this on the back burner for awile)? also where is the cheapest place to buy an intercooler, radiator, fans etc. i want to buy these brand new, as the car im getting the tranny out of all this (excluding the intercooler cause i dosnt have one) is trashed. also any suggestions and hints / tips BESIDES dont do it it cost too much? also this will be a strip / street car but once i get the engine in it will probably be a sunday car. besides i have to go out and buy a beater for the down time my car will go thru.

i did that swap on my car my advise sell your car go buy a SE-R and put the DET in it there a lot of think you would have to change. Plus your GA16DE brake or not enough powerfull for the SR20DET. If you still wanna do the swap i would be glad to answer any of your question

Good luck with the swap. There is Lots of work that is going to need to be done when swappin into a 1.6L. Lots of things still go wrong with my car as far as axles are concerned. Also a good thing would be to upgrade your radiator if you live in a hot area. That turbo produces alot of heat...
