Hey, i have a 90 sr20det 240sx...i just bought it 3 weeks ago and have had
no problems till now...i just drove 35miles away from home in it and now im
having issues. it is a manual but i have the viper remote start and alarm
on it.....i usually remote start it and leave it to heat up for about 3-5min....last night it started but when i got in and turned the key and
pressed the brake....it stalled......i tried starting it up just in the ignition
and it didn't even fully start up--rpms went up and then straight down....i then remote started it again and no problem starting....again, soon as i either
pressed the brake or released the e-brake (while on flat surface), it stalled.....my last option was to start it with the key and have the e-brake off and i just had the clutch and gas pushed in and it started and i kept it
reving high for about 5 seconds....then it was fine and didn't stall when pressing the brake.....i got where i needed to go and then shut it off....3 minutes later...i started it back up and had no problem.....this morning i get up (vehicle sat for 10hrs)...and it is having the same problem.....what could this be????? vacuum leak, bov issue, fuel pump

sound like its more related to the brake booster. you might have a leake in the booster. and every time its pressed your giving the motor a leak. im not saying this is the problem but you should look into it. hook up a vacum guage and see your vac when you hit the brakes. also you might wanna see if the remote start might be affecting your vehicles operation.

it's definitely the brake booster. takes about an hour to replace it. i replaced mine with an s14 one. in the mean time. pop your hood and pull the line off of your brake booster and plug it with something. that'll stop your stalling problems but you'll have manual brakes till you get the setup fixed.
