if you go to traffic school nothing will go up, i got busted for 110 in a 75, went to traffic school, and my rates were left alone

Haha yeah. I think it's because the author and the majority of the Nolo staff live in CA.

I haven't read the CA edition but I'll tell you, that book is great. It helped me prepare a case against a nonsensical Careless Driving ticket an officer gave me while I was testing my clutch.

You can contest the ticket, go to court and request taking a defensive driving course in lieu of the fine & points. But 26 over is gonna make it hard.
Sometimes it takes a while for the insurance company to detect it, but when they do it will go up.

Yeah, my insurance is linked to my whole familys so its all going to go up, im hoping i just get my licenses suspended of a while and not revoked.

Geez, here in Dinwiddie County, a guy got charged with wreckless driving and put into jail on top of fines for doing something similar on I-85. And he was not only giving enough room, but slowing down for traffic way early. Not trying to condon what he was doing, but how do you guys get it so easy?

well, i got pulled over for going 75 in a 45 zone. i went to court, and i appealed it(i am only 17) well, i then had to go to court again, and when i did, last friday 3/11, the cop didnt show up, so i one... just for curiosity, i asked the judge how much it would have been, he said it would have been $5000 because it was wreckless driving, but i dont know how much the insurance would raise, that all depends.

Here in Kentucky if your busted for more then 25 over...you lose your license for 6 months. As for insurance.....dont really know about that. But 5% sounds about right
