Hello guys i was just wondering how much faster a spec v would be than the base SE-R. Lets say if we used 91 octane on both vehicles. Is there a much difference, especially with the CVT ? The CVT transmission is a very well tuned tranny.

Not sure of the difference in speed between an SER and a Spec V but the torque is solid on the low end of the Spec V. I have an 03 Spec V with the 6 speed (why even consider a cvt transmission?) and the pull is just tremendoous through 3rd and 4th gear. 5th and 6th are really highway gears. I have left 5.0 mustangs in the dust on I95 with this 6th gear.

This is supposed to be a sporty car. Driving a stick or riding in an automatic. HMMM. 6 speed definitely!

Enjoy your car, what ever your choice.
Love my 03 Spec V,
Slimbob
