Our 1998 Pathfinder (132k) has a slight oil drip (notice on garage floor ever so often). Had an oil change recently and they said oil was leaking down onto starter. I confirmed this, can see some oil covering the starter just forward and above the oil pan. The mechanic suggested replacing the valve cover gaskets--of which I can see a slight oil around (slow rate of seepage). Cost of doing both of the valve cover gaskets is roughly $400.

I get the oil replaced, or replace it myself, every 6 months since we only drive about 5-7k per year. No noticeable oil is being burned.

Anyone else have a similar issue with their older pathfinder and replace the VCG to solve an issue like this? My main concern is this isn't the root cause of the drip.
