Look, I am not made o money so buying a short shifter is not first on the to-do list. untill I get my short throw I decided to cut some of the stock shifter off like some of you suggested.

I cut below where the threads ended, right before the shift arm starts to get thicker basically just cutting all the threads off. I threw on a $10 chrome shifter from discount auto and i'm done- 10 minutes, ten dollars. My conclusion is that its GREAT. It doesn't shorten the throw really, but it does seem to be more direct of a throw. It sure looks a hell of a lot nicer to. So untill you guys get that $250 shifter, CUT THAT SHIT!!! You'll like! Just don't cut it too short, you can always cut off more if it's not short enough for your taste the first cut.

B & M also makes a short shifter

Cutting it works too.
