Stock 03 Spec V - 6 speed:
All dealer recalls complied with.

SES light came on this morning on way to work. No distinguishable problems with performance. No other lights on the dash.

Performed Pedal Dance:
SES code 0455 Evaporative Emission Control System Leak detected (Gross Leak)

I would think the car would run like crap if there was a gross leak in the emission system.

I did notice the last couple of days when I down shift coming to a stop the car sort of leaps forward once at lower RPMs. Kind of like an automatic would feel it it were slipping or catching up.

Any ideas?

Thanks,
Slimbob

Just went out to the car at lunch time, did pedal dance and reseated the gas cap and cleared the code. I guess we'll see if that was it on the way home.

Will check the cannister next. Do you know where it is located?

Thanks,
Slimbob

Rear driver side top part of the wheel well. Black box w/ some hoses connected to it.

Most likely your canister's vent control valve is stuck open? This and a loose gas cap will throw an EVAP Gross Leak code.

Thanks guys for the quick reply,
I reseated the gas cap and cleared the codes yesterday at lunch. Seems ok now.

Thanks,
