Plz Help!!

I have a problem with my Nissan sentra 2001 GXE automatic transmission.
The car will start fine but when I try to shift to drive the engine
will cut off.Or when I try to accelerate the engine will just stall and die on me.I took to a shop that says it is a brain box problem. Will the car star if the brain box got burnt.I am afraid that the technician does not know what could be wrong with the car.Could any sensor cause this problem? The car was reading service engine before this problem started. Please help. That you.
stall.how do I fix it.

First, find another shop. They do not know how to service your car.

If the service engine light was on, the computer detected a fault in one of the sensors. This fault is probably the cause of your problem. It is possible to read the fault code and determine which sensor(s) it is. If you can get your car to drive, go to an auto parts store like Auto Zone. They will read the fault code for free. You can proceed from there.

Once you start your car, try this: Put your foot on the brake and step lightly on the gas. Then put it in gear, still with your foot on the brake, and play with the gas to see if you can keep the engine running.
