Sounds like it's only being held down by the secondary (safety) latch and the main latch isn't engaging. The main latch uses a rollover cam, it may be bent or rusted and unable to roll. The latches aren't expensive if yours is broken, about $70 Nissan list or about $20 on eBay.
Sentra hood problem
So I have a 2017 Nissan Sentra SV (B17) and I think im experiencing issues with the hood release. Yes, the hood DOES open and close, but when I go to pull on the hood latch release there is little to no resistance. Also, when the hood is closed I feel like there is a slightly bigger gap than normal. Does anyone know what this could be?
