Hi guys,
Im new to the nissan Sentra forum. I've heard good things bout you guys and im coming over from the honda prelude and miata club. anyhow im looking to purchase a 2002 sentra but it will need the engine replaced according to the owner. What types of engine can i replace it with thats low cost? i've priced around and it looks like it may cost me 1000+ for a new engine.

I will be taking it to a shop around here to get a full diagnostic, but what type of engine problem is common with this vehicle?

There are three engine families in the B15
SR20, QG18 and QR25
None of these are just a straight engine swap, the are threads on specifics, but in general you need complete power train, transmission axles ECU etc.
IMHO Just buy the car you want, it will be cheaper in the long run.
