My 98 Sentra has 138,000 on the clock. A few weeks ago I noticed a pull to right. Also, a couple of days ago the drivers front wheel well, strut and steering knuckle were covered with an oily substance.

My trusty, ripe-off artist mechanic charged me $565 to replace the 2 inner tie rods, a new CV boot, and a wheel alignment. Is it normal that both inner tie rods would be worn? The steering is true but I feel like I got ripped off.

With that mileage on the car, it's not normal for both tie rod ends to wear out but it can happen. Labor charges today are very high. Always shop around for repair work estimates.
