Hello!
My girlfriend has a 99 Sentra, and recently the rpms started fluctuating between ~800 to 1800 rpms at stop lights. It would stay at 1500 for 30 sec. or a minute, and then drop abruptly back to normal idle. My idea is that the idle control might be getting stuck, but I don't have much experience, so Im curious if anyone can give me some pointers in the right direction. I have also tried to turn the idle control regulator screw down, which helped a little, but not too much. Let me know what you think.

Best way to find out is by going to your local auto shop and have them test your battery for free. They can also test your alternator for free, but they usually don't know how to work that machine right. IF you don't notice anything funky going on with that "battery" gauge, have your Throttle Position Sensor checked cause those can cause fluctuations at an idle and temporary loss of power at higher speeds. :fluffy:
