I am gonna take a trip to san diego, ca from new orleans, la and I would like too know what to do jus to make sure before I do start this road trip and what should I watch out for during my road trip and stuff engine wise and geography wise

okay well i suggest you give your car a complete tune up. Change the oil, oil filter, clean your air filter, check your hoses, vaccum lines, the a/c (you will be going through hot states), flush out your radiator and replace with new coolant, check and replace if necessary your plugs, wires, fuel filters, any exterior lights, tires, brakes, and anything else i missed. SInce you will be going through hot, humid weather, there is a possibility of your car overheating, carry antifreeze and water just in case, maybe even a quart of oil.

If you do everything Technokid said, do it a couple of weeks before you leave. You don't want to change a bunch of things and leave town.

I'd just check the fluid levels and take a credit card.
