Take off the skidplate underneath and do it from there. It'd take all day to do from the top. I go through the fenderwell with an extension and socket to access the adjuster bolt.

They're all internal AFAIK and it takes me about 15 minutes to drop the alternator. You must have big hands? ;)

Lame...I swapped my stock alty out for a 110 amp Quest alternator and modified the bracket to fit. Works great!
