Hi,
we were getting a check engine light on our 2001 Maxima SE V6 and the code pointed to a bad Mass Airflow Sensor. We replaced the sensor and the code went away, however the scanner still shows "CAT not ready". We have driven the car a couple hundred miles and it hasn't reset. I found some details on the drive cycle and it is next to impossible to do unless you were on a closed course. Anyway of resetting this or do I have to go to the dealer and burn $100.00 to have them clear the ECM?
Thanks!
Ron

The "catalyst" SRT is thee MOST difficult test to set. You need to follow the test pattern to a tee! I just did this last week on a '97 Maxima and we charged the customer 2 hours of labor to set all 5 SRTs. I drove the car home for the weekend and drove the car real HARD and it set on the 2nd day!
Good luck with setting the last one.

Thanks.

Do you have the test pattern? I found some but they were generic drive cycles not specific to the Maxima.
Thanks,
Ron
