Problems...

I was racing with my buddies XE today and he said that he noticed some smoke coming out of my exhaust today. The weird thing is it was only upon acceleration and went away as soon as I let of the throttle... Now I have talked with some of my friends that own an SR20DE like myself and they were never able to really find the problem through little things like cap rotor etc.. I thought possibly a piston ring or my head gasket was starting to go a little bit but I am not totally sure... has anyone else noticed something of this nature or is it just something the SR20 is prone to?

Compression test

How many miles does your motor have? I think the problem is from worn piston rings. Try to get compression test done. If compression looks low, try to drop a little bit of engine oil into the cylinder from the spark plug hole. If compression rise up, that means you have worn piston rings. I've seen a few older SR20s with that problem and I have a feeling you have worn rings too.

p.s. You raced the XE and if the guy in XE was able to see the smoke from behind, that means your car's still running strong ;)

I was thinking it was probably piston rings as well... But the motor seems really strong besides the ticking that I get at full acceleration??? solve that one....

Sounds almost like its coming from the transmission though not sure about that one.... Has anyone ever tried that engine prolong stuff? I just need to keep this car running strong for a while longer till my DET gets on its way!
