I'm still here, but taking a break for a while.

Anyway, I've seen some complaints about being unable to send private messages to new members. If you remember, the original reason for turning it off was to prevent another ultimaterally style spam attack. I recently read a message on suggesting a better way.

I wrote a script that scans the private message database every two minutes looking for the term "ultimaterally." If found, the message is deleted and the sending account is disabled. Go ahead: try it! ;) There is the possibility of false positives, but I think the chances are rather remote. When I first ran the script only three instances were found and all were related to the initial spamming.

The ability for members to send e-mail to each other is still disabled, but there are no longer any restrictions on private messages.
