Basically in an effort to save more weight in the 87 pulsar I want to take off the power steering and all of the lines.... and replace it with a manual one.... is this possible and if there are no manual racks that work is there a way to just plug the lines on the one I have?

I've seen it done on other models, fairly straight forward, especially since there is a manual steering rack available. You may need the column too, I'm just not sure on a Pulsar. You won't really save so much wieght as much as its one less pump for the engine to run, freeing up horsepower to send to the flywheel but sacrificing ease of driving.

suspension interchangeability between models

hi, new to the forum but seems full of good information.

from looking thru some of the threads, it seems like there's fairly good interchangeability between b11, b12, and n13. like the manual steering rack from a b11 fits a n13 with the right coupler. is that correct?

how about on driveshafts? i've got two n13s(one with sportbak) with e16 and a/t. both cars driveshafts and steering rack boots are all toasted.

I can not see much benefit from loosing power steering you will only gain a couple horse power and loose alot of driving comfort. Invest in a header and yank out the rear seats. More power gains and similar if not more weight loss.

Will someone stop with the yanking of the rear seats already? they are not that heavy (what's two pieces of wiegh?) I doubt you gain that much speed from all the wieght savings of removing the pieces of foam Nissan calls rear seats (which aren't very useful, except for kids and small pets).

I think a lot kids (in general, not just Sentra) pull the rear seats out to gain some sort of "cred," like "Yo DaWg Im HaRd, I rOll wIt nO BaCk Seatz."

A B11 Rack will not work on a B12 or a KN13, I have already tried it.

so is there a manual rack from the B12s that works on the N13 OR is there a way to just plug holes on the power rack?

I know for sure the power rack from an kn13 SE is the same part ## than the b12 sport coupe... as for the rest, i should be the same ...

thats very true with these cars....but if you take out seats and carpet, well thats a little bit more, can gain a few tenths of a second....this is only if you're hardcore, cheap, and desperate. I can understand taking them out of a pulsar though...they're just wasted space so take em out and get more trunk room.
