I have a 99 (older body) in mind that i would like to buy. I have read that they have a towing capacity of 5000lbs. I have a hardbody show truck and i was wondering if the pathy would be able to tow it?

IIRC it was 3500 lbs, not 5000.

The 5spd is rated at 3,500lbs tow capacity, the Automatic is rated at 5,000lbs tow capacity. So it depends on what you're getting.

I have a '97 Pathy with the VG30 and an Auto, and I pull a 3,000lb trailer with a 2,000lb boat on it all over the place, and it has no problem, and never has. I've been doing this for about 8 years, it's got 160K on the original drivetrain and not even a hickup. I maintain it well, and don't ever tow with the A/C on or in Overdrive.

Towing another truck on a trailer may be pushing it, but I'm sure it would do it no problem.
