A little history....

Major service done @ 110k (timing belt, water pump, etc)

137k water pump starts squealing--

Had it replaced on Monday. Owner of shop tells me to bring it back in on Tuesday because the technician noticed the timing belt was off 2 cogs, so he adjusted it to line up the marks. Owner says come back Tuesday because check engine light came on after they got it back together.

So I drive home, no light, but a little rougher idle and less bottom end power than before. No light comes on on way back to shop this AM.

They call at noon and say its ready. They did not have to adjust timing belt because the computer needed a chance to relearn the timing?? This sounds like a load to me. Whats your opinion?

I used to be able to work on stuff myself before all this technology came along...

That's got the 3.3 V6, right?

The ECU does do a re-learning process after being reset, but timing is automatic and I don't believe it's something to be worried about.

Update

Yes it is the 3.3L.

Now check engine light is back on and idle seems a little rough. Low end power is also down.

I think I will take it back and see what happens.
