I don't have an oil pressure gauge in my '04 XE, but I'm pretty sure most vehicles have a lower pressure at idle than at speed.

Is it within spec according to the owner's manual?

Yes it's common.

And further into the oil use interval, the oil will probably thin out and it will be harder for the system to maintain the same oil pressure.

My brother used to know it was time to change his oil in his '68 Dodge Charger 383 when he'd let off the gas and see that the pressure guage dropped right to zero.

Not sure that's purely scientific, but it definitely showed that the straight 30 or 20W-50 oil had thinned out considerably ... probably from fuel dilution (Holly 750 double-pumper carb ;) )
