I know on the GA16i distributor that there is a gasket/O-ring around the body of the distributor, but if oil is leaking into the dist. wouldn't there have to be a seal on the inside of the dist some where?
well thers obviously a shaft because of the notch that hooks into the cam turns the rotor so somethings worn out but idk if its a gasket, i cant imagine the dizzy being to much at a pick and pull if thats what u have to resort to and if it is... jsut go for a walk with teh right tools, its 2 bolts and a clip MUAHAHAHAHAHAH
Yes, there is a seal between the body of the distributor and shaft. You have to remove everything in the distributor to get down to it but it does come out and there is a manufacturer name and part number on it, probably a $2 seal if you can find someplace to buy one. Other than that a junkyard dist. is about $15. Be sure to remove the little wire retainer from around the connector before trying to disconnect it.
