I just bought a 1991 240sx se four weeks ago and it ran great up until today. It only has 80,000 miles on it. I was sitting at a traffic light it turned green so i went.Then the car stopped moving engine still running normally. It would not move in drive or reverse. I'm just wondering if the tranny blew or could it be something else. Their was a buzzing noise before when i would give it gas but it would always go away.I thought it was the cold weather. Please help it is my daily driver.

Sorry forgot to say it was an auto. If the tranny is shot i will put i up for sale. I lack the funds to fix it. I really don't want to because it is such awesome shape.

trani r+r (remove and replace) shouldnt cost you more than $500 if you doit yourself. If I was in your position id switch over to manual,but thats just preference.Sounds like the gearing in the trani is "toast",so to speak.
